| SAS temporarily stops flying over Afghanistan until the situation after the U.S. attack on terrorist camps clears. The present routing is over Syria and Saudi Arabia awaiting overflying permit over Iran. | |||||

| At 16.00 Seattle Local Time today, the FAA certified the first SAS 737-600 aircraft. The delivery date 15SEP98 is still valid. The aircraft is already painted in the new SAS colors and will be presented to the public on 20SEP. | |||||

| SAS have recently transferred
options to firm orders for a total of 55 Boeing 737s. In addition SAS and Boeing have agreed that SAS at all times shall have 35 options. In connection with this agreement, SAS have transferred 5 MD-90 options to Boeing 737. So far there are no firm orders for the stretched versions (-700/800/900) but SAS have agreed that 12 out of the first 76 aircraft shall be stretched. |

| 04JUN98 | Last MD-80 aircraft leased to Reno Air will be returned the coming week. | ||||
| SAS has since 1993 had
4 MD-80 aircraft leased out to Reno Air, USA. (SE-DFU, SE-DID, SE-DFX
and OY-KHE). During the spring these aircraft have been returned to SAS.
By now SE-DFU and SE-DID are back in SAS operation while SE-DFX is with
Shannon Aerospace, Shannon, Ireland, for Post Delivery Modification, PDM,
work. At the PDM the aircraft is refurbished to SAS standard so as to
fully conform with the equipment and location specification for our other
MD-80 aircraft. Also OY-KHE that will be test flown by SAS Flight Operations in Oklahoma the coming week, will be flown to Shannon for PDM. An ex. Swissair DC-9-80 which SAS has leased (SE-DMT) is presently also in Shannon for modification work. The work consists, among other things, of Autobrake System installation and cabin refurbishment to SAS standard. |

| 15MAY98 | Aircraft Training for the first 737 pilots. | ||||
| Germania has announced
that the 737-700 airplane intended for SAS flight training is delayed
from Boeing. Expected date for start of training is now 22JUN98. This
delay will cause severe problem for the flight training. SAS will maintain
discussion with Germania to receive all available slots for training utilizing
the already delivered aircraft. Training might be available during night
time from Berlin, SXF. SAS has also been in contact with Maersk for using any available aircraft. |

| This day there were 1099 SK-departures. An additional 6 flight were cancelled for technical reasons. An exceedance of 1100 flights on a single day is expected within short. | |||||
| 05MAY98 | Training of pilots for the new Boeing 737-600 fleet. | ||||
| The first SAS Boeing 737-600 aircraft is expected to be delivered from Boeing around 24SEP98. In order to be able to cope with the accelerated delivery pace (8 aircraft during SEP-DEC98) training of pilots has already begun. Before end of the year 183 SAS pilots will have transferred to the new Boeing 737 aircraft | |||||

| This day there were 1096 SK-departures. The latest all time high were from 22APR98 (1089 movements) superseeding an all time high of 1078 aircraft movements from 14MAY93. | |||||
