to scrap charges |

At the EU-Russia Summit
in Helsinki last week, the European Commission and Russia reached
an agreement that the special system of charges for flying over Siberia
shall be abolished from January 1, 2014. Today’s charges are

Lufthansa passengers
can now print their own boarding cards from their office or home computer.
All that is required is an electronic ticket, an Internet connection

Group will become the first European airline to be granted the right
to operate scheduled services into Iraq in the near future. Preparations
are now well underway to fly to the city of Erbil in Northern Iraq
from 11 December 2006. The service will operate twice a week out of
Vienna. The Austrian Airlines Group will fly its scheduled route to
Erbil using an Airbus A319. |

Board has approved an order for 35 new aircraft. From 2007, Lufthansa

has also taken options on a further 30 aircraft of the A320 family.
In addition, the Supervisory Board gave the goahead for Lufthansa

The evacuation flights
required by the crisis in Lebanon were conducted from July 15 and
have now been completed in accordance with the orders from the Scandinavian
ministries for foreign affairs. No further flights are expected to
take place.
A total of 7,905 persons were evacuated on a total of 50 flights,
mainly from Damascus in Syria and Larnaca in Cyprus (Kypros), of which
23 were operated by Scandinavian Airlines Danmark, 7 by SAS Braathens

Oslo – Madrid as a new route, June 1. This will be the airline’s
28th international destination and the 11th international route to
be added this year. SAS Braathens will operate Oslo - Madrid return
three times weekly and the timetable will provide good onward connections
from both cities. |

As from Tuesday,16 May,
Spanair links the city of Madrid with the island of La Palma and offers
three return flights a week with time-tables adapted to holiday traffic

Widerøe launches
direct route between Tromsø and Bergen |

In the summer, Widerøe
will make it easier to travel between northern and western Norway.
During the period July 2 – August 13, the airline will operate
direct flights between Tromsø and Bergen. The route will operate

SAS genomförde idag den första flygningen någonsin
där navigeringssystemet ombord kommunicerade med inflygningssystemet

möjligt. Det var en reguljär flygning mellan Luleå
och Stockholm.
De optimerade inflygningarna (4DT) kallas även för ”Green
Approaches” eftersom de syftar till att reducera bränslekonsumtion,
utsläpp och buller. |
