  18NOV Unplanned engine change for one of Scandinavian Airlines A 330s  
    One of Scandinavian Airlines long-haul aircraft of the type Airbus A 330 has been transported to Manchester for an engine change. The engine change, which was unplanned, has caused disruptions to services that are expected to continue until Tuesday.  
  18NOV "Romeo Echo Echo" plays lead role in filming  
    Scandinavian Airlines’ Airbus A330 with registration REE played the lead role during filming at Arlanda Airport on November 13. The filming took place in connection with the cooperation between SAS and the Volvo Ocean Race. The film will eventually be shown on intercontinental flights.

  14NOV Danish aviation policy launched  
    In the Danish Parliament, Transport and Energy Minister Flemming Hansen presented a report on the development of Danish aviation over the next ten years, under the title “Danish Aviation 2015.” The report is based on a study bearing the same title produced by the Ministry of Transport and Energy.  
  11NOV SAS Mobile Portal voted best in class  
    SAS Mobile Portal was named "Best Mobile Solution" at the SIME (Scandinavian Interactive Media Event) Awards ceremony held yesterday at Berns Restaurant in Stockholm. More than 600 participants from the Internet industry were present when the prize was presented for the first time in five years.  
  11NOV King Carl XVI Gustav awards Scandinavian Airlines for Promotion of Sweden in Australia  
    Scandinavian Airlines was honoured to last night receive a Swedish Business in Australia Award during a reception at the Sydney Opera House as part of the state visit by King Carl XVI Gustav and Queen Silvia of Sweden.  
  27OCT First in Europe to use infrared deicing  
    SAS Ground Services Norway AS (SGS Norway) is to be the first ground handler in Europe to test out infrared deicing of aircraft. A hangar for infrared deicing is currently being rigged up at Oslo Airport.  
  21OCT New route to Iraq from Stockholm  
    On November 9, a new flight route will be launched from Stockholm/Arlanda to Erbil in northern Iraq via Istanbul in Turkey. The service is to be provided by tour operator Online Air Service in cooperation with Swedish airline Nordic Regional/Leisure and Iraqi Airways.  
  10OCT SAS Flight Dispatch trains Danish Air Force  
    SAS Flight Dispatch (SFD) has signed an agreement with the Danish Air Force to train 10 “Mission Planners” at Squadron 721 in Ålborg (transport squadron). A Mission Planner is the military equivalent of a flight planner. SFD has been heavily involved in the training of flight planners in Scandinavia in recent years. There is currently no official training program but rather courses are arranged on an as-needed basis.  
  04OCT SAS Internet services on mobile phones  
    SAS is the first airline to introduce its Internet services for flight passengers over mobile phone. The SAS MobilePortal allows passengers to check-in, confirm flight times and EuroBonus points. In addition, it is possible to book rental cars, read the latest news and much more. It is even possible to order flowers! By surfing to the portal using a mobile phone, the SAS customer has access to the entire range of services, assembled in one place and on-line.

  03OCT SAS opens online store  
    On October 1, SAS will open its new online store at saswebshop. The product range includes various SAS branded products as well as other Scandinavian designs and well-known brands. The online store is open to SAS customers and all other interested parties.

  30SEP F50 added to SAS Braathens  
    Progress is being made step by step at SAS Braathens, and October 1 will mark an important milestone in the operative integration process - SAS Braathens is to take over the Vestland routes, which are a Fokker 50 operation.  
  29AUG Scandinavian Airlines in Sweden launches bookstore in the sky  
    As of September 1, passengers on SAS’s Swedish domestic flights will be able to purchase books on board. This literature campaign, “Bokhandeln i himlen" (“Bookstore in the sky”), is being conducted in cooperation with the Bokstäder publishing company.  
  05AUG Scandinavian Airlines on time  
    Scandinavian Airlines ranks among the best five airlines in terms of punctuality in Europe during the second quarter of 2005, according to new statistics issued by the Association of European Airlines (AEA). The statistics also show that travelers on Scandinavian Airlines run only a small risk of delayed baggage.  
  27MAY Caravelle celebrated at Arlanda  
    On May 27, 1955, the first Caravelle took off from Toulouse. Today, 50 years later, one of these venerable aircraft was at gate 11 at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.  
  20APR SAS introduces snowflake on Danish domestic routes  
    SAS is introducing one-way snowflake tickets on domestic routes between Copenhagen and Billund, Århus and Aalborg. This meets the major request for access to inexpensive domestic tickets that involve paying exclusively for transport from A to B.  
  20APR Arlanda to have first CAT 3 runway in Sweden  
    The Swedish Civil Aviation Authority has approved an upgrade of Arlanda’s Runway 3 to CAT III A. This means that aircraft with approved equipment will be able to land despite nearly nonexistent vertical sight, but with not less than 250 meters of horizontal visibility.  
  15APR First aircraft transferred from SAS to SAS Braathens  
    The first aircraft transfer from SAS to SAS Braathens has been completed. The aircraft departed on its maiden flight on its SAS Braathens' AOC at 09:30 a.m. today.  
  14APR No lighters onboard flights to USA  
    From today all lighters will be prohibited from sterile areas of American airports and onboard aircraft. This applies to all flights from, to and within USA. It includes checked baggage as well.  
  14FEB Internet on SAS long haul  
    From today, Scandinavian Airlines is offering wireless broadband internet connections to passengers in all classes onboard its Airbus 340 aircraft. Read more
