| 04JUL2007 | Request and uplink of FMS wind data forecasts from RODOS to the FMS has been activated for the SAS B737NG fleets. It was already available for the Airbus fleets. More information here. | |
| 20JUN2007 | Since last week (12JUN) SAS is trialing uplink of actual descent wind observations to flights inbound Stockholm-Arlanda airport. The updated descent winds allow the FMS to optimize the descent and approach, reducing fuel consumption and noise. The winds are uplinked via ACARS and VDL2. | |
| 20JUN2007 | SAS Norway has taken delivery of a new B737-783 LN-RRA Steinar Viking. The aircraft is equipped with Collins CMU-900 supporting ACARS and VDL2/AOA. See SAS Norway Aircraft Fleet. | |

| 23MAR2007 | A change has been implemented to uplink Flight
Progress information automatically to all long-haul flights after
takeoff. It gives the Commander information about times and
delay codes (if applicable) that have been reported into the
operations control system. The ACARS Applications overview page has been updated with links to pages describing the following ACARS applications: Maintenance Statement, Fuel Release, Flight Summary and Position Report. |

| 21MAR2007 | Uplink of FMS enroute
wind information from RODOS via HERMES/ACARS to the aircraft FMS
(Flight Management System) was introduced operationally for SAS Airbus
fleets in 2006. The wind information is used to optimize FMS flight
planning, reducing fuel consumption. MyTravel Airways DK is currently in process of implementing the wind uplink function for their fleets. More information available here. |

These are some of the achievements: - Completed the transfer of 26 B737NG airplanes from SAS to SAS Braathens, with continued support by Hermes. - Hermes support for MD-90 operations at Blue 1, Hello Air and Nordic Arways. - Introduction of the Airbus A319 fleet. - Uplink of predicted wind information to the FMC. - Hermes support for NUP2+ project at Arlanda, involving CDM and green approach messages and data exchange with SAS aircraft. - AOC releases for multiple ACARS and AOA platforms. - Mini-ACMS for the MD-80 AOA platform. - Hermes Skyview evaluation. - Continued MD-80 aircraft upgrade to VDL-2 AOA capability. - Continued LINK2000 CPDLC operations, now also with SAS Braathens. - Phase-in and ACARS support through Hermes for MyTravel Airways (Scandinavia) fleets. - Migration to new ground-ground comm solutions to reduce costs. - Support for ongoing EFB and Gatelink studies. |
