	05NOV	The coverage charts for ARINC Europe and ARINC South America available on the Ground Stations page, have been updated.
	04NOV	Thomas Cook Scandinavia has added another ACARS-enabled A321 aircraft to its fleet, increasing the A320-series fleet to 8 and their total fleet to 12. ItThe registration will be OY-VKT (ex G-SMTJ).
	14OCT	We are very pleased to welcome Air Baltic as a new airline using the SAS Group datalink system. Air Baltic is based at Riga, Latvia and operates a fleet of B737, B757 and F50 aircraft. Air Baltic plans to start ACARS operations with their recently aquired B757s.
	22SEP	Starting this week, as part of the CASSIS project, SAS Datalink is supporting Stockholm-Arlanda ATC with datalink information exchange with SAS aircraft to optimize inbound arrival flow: STARs, descent winds, ETA updates, RTAs and 4D intent trajectories.
	22SEP	The RGS coverage maps for ARINC Asia, South America and North America have been updated. See links at the bottom of the Ground Stations page.
	07AUG	ACARS has been activated in Novair's third A321 aircraft SE-RDO.
	24JUL	MD-80 OY-KGT has been upgraded with VDL-2/AOA datalink.
	09JUL	ARINC has deployed a new VHF ground station at TLV Tel Aviv, Israel. See Ground Stations.
	27JUN	Our congratulations to Novair who activated ACARS in their first two Airbus aircraft earlier this week! Novair will use ACARS to support its operations out of Scandinavia to holiday destinations in Europe and as far away as South America and India.
	27JUN	LN-RRG, a new B737-800 was delivered from Boeing to SAS Norway on 26-27 May BFI-BOO-OSL. See SAS Norway Aircraft Fleet.
	18JUN	ARINC has deployed a new VHF ground station at SOF Sofia, Bulgaria. See Ground Stations.
	10JUN	MD-80 OY-KHE has been upgraded with VDL-2/AOA datalink.
	10JUN	LN-RRF, a new B737-800 was delivered from Boeing to SAS Norway on 15-16MAY. See SAS Norway Aircraft Fleet.
	25APR	LN-RRE, a brand new B737-800 has been delivered from Boeing to SAS Norway. See SAS Norway Aircraft Fleet.
	16APR	We are pleased to welcome AeBal (Aerolineas de Baleares) as a new airline using the SAS datalink system. AeBal is based at Palma de Mallorca and operates a fleet of B717 aircraft for Spanair and as Spanair Link.
	15APR	We are pleased to welcome Novair as a new airline using the SAS datalink system. Novair operates a fleet of Airbus aircraft out of Scandinavia to holiday destinations as far away as South America and India.
	10APR	ARINC has deployed a new VHF ground station at LCY London City, United Kingdom. See Ground Stations.
	07APR	The From Departure to Arrival story was written some (many!) years ago as an end-to-end account of datalink procedures around a typical SAS flight. It has been now updated, which was well overdue. It is satisfying to note that of those datalink applications that were only ideas and concepts at the time the story was originally written, most have actually been implemented since then. The VHF coverage map for ARINC Europe has been updated.
	01APR	Departure times and reported delay codes (if applicable) are now uplinked automatically 10 min after takeoff to aircraft operated by SAS Denmark. It has previously been implemented for SAS International. The format of the auto uplink message is the same as the  Flight Progress Info.
	27MAR	DCL Departure Clearance was down (unavailable) at CPH Copenhagen airport during January-March 2008 as a result of  the switch to a new ATC system and control tower. DCL service has now been restored for SAS and associated airlines.
	25MAR	ARINC has deployed a new VHF ground station at NAP Naples, Italy. SITA have deployed ground stations at SXB Strasbourg, France and BRE Bremen, Germany. See Ground Stations.
	14MAR	ARINC has deployed a new VHF ground station at XRY Jerez, Spain. See Ground Stations.
	11MAR	Uplink of FMC flightplan (route) to Airbus and B737NG fleets has been developed and is expected to be released for operational use soon. The VHF coverage map for ARINC Europe has been updated. MD-80 LN-RMD has been upgraded with VDL-2/AOA datalink.
	04MAR	ARINC has deployed new VHF ground stations at IBZ Ibiza, Spain and MLA Valletta, Malta. See Ground Stations.
	12FEB	MD-80 LN-ROS has been upgraded with VDL-2/AOA datalink. More than half the total SAS MD-80 fleet has been upgraded with VDL-2 so far.
	06FEB	The SITA Europe, Middle East and Africa coverage map has been updated, linked to at the bottom of the Ground Stations page.
	04FEB	MD-80 LN-RMC has been upgraded with VDL-2/AOA datalink. B737s LN-RRC (ex OY-KKG) and LN-RRD (ex OY-KKH) have been transferred from SAS Sweden to SAS Norway. B737s SE-DNX and SE-DOR are being returned from Globespan to SAS Sweden. The ARINC Europe coverage map has been updated with the recent ground station deployments. New sites (in blue font) added to the Ground Stations.
	24JAN2008	ARINC has deployed a new VHF ground station at FUE Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain. See Ground Stations.
	22JAN2008	Avro RJ85 OH-SAH (Blue 1's first ACARS airplane) and RJ100 OH-SAM no longer operate for Blue 1. See Blue 1 Aircraft Fleet overview.

Summary of SAS Datalink achievements last year: - Activation of first ACARS airplane at Estonian Air (see news item 17DEC2007 below). - Hermes support for Airbus A330 Green Approaches at Stockholm Arlanda (Aurora project). - Uplink of predicted wind information to the FMC for all Airbus types plus the B737NGs. - Uplink of current descent winds for ARN/ESSA arrivals. - Continued Hermes support for NUP2+ project at Arlanda, involving CDM and green approach data exchanges between SAS aircraft and ATC. - Implementation of NOTAM uplink. - AOC releases for multiple ACARS and AOA platforms. - Updated Mini-ACMS application for the MD-80 POA and AOA platforms. - Continued MD-80 avionics upgrade to VDL-2 AOA capability. - Continued LINK2000 CPDLC operations, including  SAS Norway. - Migration to new ground-ground comm solutions to reduce costs. - Support for ongoing EFB and Gatelink studies.
